Knocknaheeny girl set for Late Late Toy Show appearance

AN 11-year-old girl from Knocknaheeny has spoken excitedly about her appearance on this year’s
.Sophia McNamara is involved in the 2023 edition of the highly-anticipated annual programme, which takes place this coming Friday.
And while the all-important theme of the Toy Show is under wraps, as are the specific details of Sophia’s involvement, she told
she is “excited” and “not nervous at all” to feature.The St Mary's on the Hill NS pupil received the exciting news a number of weeks ago after two successful auditions.
“I heard back a couple of weeks ago, we got a call. I heard my mam say ‘yeah, she’s on it’ and I heard ‘Toy Show’ – I just started jumping and running around,” she said.
The talented youngster said her friends were delighted to hear the exciting news, with “amazing”, “good luck” and “I can’t wait to watch you on it” among the reactions.
Her mother Michelle said Sophia’s appearance on
is a dream come true for her daughter.“I’m extremely proud. She’s just so confident in everything she does.
“She loves performing for people and she loves just getting out there and interacting with everyone. She’s so outgoing, so this is her dream,” she said.
“I’m ecstatic and I cannot wait to see. It’s brilliant as well that she’s representing Cork.”
The 2023 Toy Show will be Patrick Kielty’s first since taking over as Late Late Show host in September.
