Tomorrow's Late Late Show line-up announced

The guest list for tomorrow's Late Late Show has been announced, and, even on election night, it looks to have something for everyone in the audience.

Debuting in 1962 and the second-longest-running chat show in the world, the Late Late is outranked only by NBC's The Tonight Show, which began in 1954.

ing host Patrick Kielty tomorrow night will be his fellow RTÉ canteen habitué Tommy Tiernan, whose own Saturday night show regularly outperforms the Late Late in the ratings.

Just back from a successful North American tour, the often controversial comedian will chat about gigging in the US during the presidential election and his love of travelling by tour bus.

He’ll also talk about bringing his Tommedian show across Ireland and Europe over the coming months and who he’d like to see on the ninth season of his chat show next year.

At 10pm, just after polling stations close in the 2024 general election, Katie Hannon and David McCullagh, two of the presenters of RTÉ’s Behind the Ballot podcast, will be ed live in studio by Jennifer Bray, political correspondent with The Irish Times, to deliver and discuss the RTÉ, The Irish Times, TG4, Trinity College Dublin t exit poll carried out by Ipsos B&A.

In an only-in-Ireland consideration, the date of the general election was decided, in part at least, by the Late Late Toy Show being Friday.

Ahead of that, Roseanna and Ollie Ruane will talk about their daughter Saoirse, who was eight years old when she appeared on the Toy Show in 2020.

Saoirse became the inspiration behind the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal, winning the hearts of the nation that night.

Tragically, Saoirse ed away at the age of 12 in March of this year, after a long battle with a rare form of cancer.
