Richard Satchwell being sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his wife, Tina, features heavily on Irish front pages on Thursday.

The Irish Times lead with the Department of Public Expenditure having attempted to block the 'housing tsar' plan, Trinity College Dublin cutting ties with Israeli universities and firms, and a Children's Health Ireland report being referred to gardaí.

The Irish Examiner lead with Tina Satchwell's family's victim impact statement after Richard Satchwell was sentenced for murdering her, the MV Matthew, the boat which had the State's  largest ever cocaine seizure on it, Leona Macken speaking out, and Dylan Scannell being found guilty of murdering Ian Baitson.

The Irish Independent lead with the State paying up to €180,000 a year for every family in emergency accommodation.

The Belfast Telegraph lead with a Co Down mother welcoming a corporate manslaughter investigation by police after her baby was stillborn.

The Herald lead with a garda alert being in place after one of the country's most violent inmates, Brendan Cummins, was released from prison on Wednesday.
