Wednesday's front pages focus on a range of stories from the HSE possible taking over Children's Health Ireland to the country failing to meet greenhouse gas emission targets for 2030.

The Irish Times reports, Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill is actively considering subsuming Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) into the Health Service Executive (HSE) following recent controversies at the operator of paediatric healthcare in the State. 

The Irish Examiner leads with Ireland "moving backwards" in its goal of reducing its carbon emissions by 51 per cent by 2030 with the latest statistics showing the country is now on course for a maximum reduction of 23 per cent.

The Echo focus on plans to reduce wait times for children looking for needs assessment in Cork.
