A man who was found dead in Lucan, Co Dublin, over the weekend may have died a number of hours or days before he was discovered.

The victim, who was in his late 40s and originally from Latvia, was found at a house at Old Bridge Park in Lucan shortly after 8am on Monday morning.

The Herald reported on Tuesday that gardaí are looking at whether the man died hours or even days before emergency services were called.

A man in his 20s remains in custody at a garda station in West Dublin after being arrested in connection with the assault that left the man (49) dead.
