Gardaí have seized electronic devices and more than €100,000 in cash as part of an investigation into suspected terrorism financing.

Three homes were searched by gardaí in the south and east regions on Friday as part of the investigation.

The searches were led by the Special Detective Unit, ed by the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) and local gardaí.

The investigation is part of, and being ed by, international law enforcement agencies, including Europol.

Gardai said more than €100,000 cash in various currencies has been seized, along with electronic devices and documentation.

The GNIB is investigating the residency status of those involved, adding that they are “non-Irish nationals”.

No arrests were made in the operation and investigations are continuing.
