Shannon Airport has recorded an 8 per cent enger growth in the first six months of 2024.

The airport management said it was boosted by the resumption of Delta’s daily service to New York-JFK and increased frequencies to nine of its European and UK destinations during the summer and recorded 974,012 engers from January to June of this year.

Mary Considine, chief executive of the Shannon Airport Group, said she was pleased to see enger numbers increasing.

“We are on track to reach the two million engers mark by the end of the year and as we build towards this, we remain committed to delivering a world-class experience for our customers who are travelling from every corner of the country to fly Shannon."

Shannon Airport recently retained its position as Ireland’s best airport brand, according to the RED C Brand Reaction Index 2024, signifying its continued popularity.

“Despite being in the height of the busy summer travel season, our engers are still enjoying the famous seamless, hassle-free experience of using Shannon, where customers can get from the car park, through check-in and security in just a matter of minutes,” Ms Considine added.
