Gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of a man in his 60s found unresponsive at a home on Harbour View Drive.

The man’s body has since been removed from the water and the coroner has been notified.

A man in his late 40s was found inside the property and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gardaí say they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery in the Clonattin area of Gorey shortly before midday on Sunday.

The body remains at the scene which is preserved for a technical examination which is due to take place on Sunday morning.

Gardaí were alerted to the body at approximately 7.50am in Dunsinare, Monaghan Town on Wednesday morning.

The body remains at the scene.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information to them.

The house was sealed off and a full investigation has been launched into the discovery of the remains.

A post-mortem will take place at Cork University Hospital

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí were alerted to an incident at approximately 10am in Royal Canal Park, Ashtown, in Dublin 15.

Earlier, gardaí announced they had discovered a body elsewhere in the county, in Ashbourne.

The body was discovered in a flat at Kevin Barry House on Coleraine Street at around 6pm yesterday evening.

The discovery was made at around 10.30pm on Monday night, and the scene is currently sealed off
