It comes after a work-to-rule, which began at the end of June, resulted in the airline cancelling hundreds of flights.

Ialpa, a branch of the Forsa trade union, said it would continue its work-to-rule action while it seeks clarifications form the Labour Court on some elements of its recommendations.

Officials from the Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association (Ialpa) and the airline had been engaged in negotiations this morning in an attempt to bring an end to the stand-off which has already seen 270 flights cancelled.

The Irish Hotel Federation has warned that the disruptions pose a serious risk to hoteliers across the country.
