Comedian Fred Cooke plays City Limits - Cork Comedy Club this Saturday.

At Cork Arts Theatre tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday night, The Montfort College of Performing Arts will present Remote, the inaugural production from its newly-formed Intermediate company drama class, directed by Sinéad Crowley.

It’s a gripping play about seven teens and their ways into protest, power and protecting themselves.

Next week, CADA Performing Arts students will take to the stage there to present Unmasked ’25.

Excerpts from Babies Revenge, The Wizard Chamber, Dumped In The Swamp and many more, from performers aged 3 to 20+. Artistic Director Catherine Mahon-Buckley and directors Fionula Linehan, Moyra O’Hare, Megan O’Mahony. Monday-Saturday, March 31-April 5, 7pm start each night.

Tonight and tomorrow at the Opera House, why not have The Laughs Of Your Life with Doireann Garrihy’s popular live podcast? Only a few seats left though.

Also as part of the Podcast Festival, Saturday sees Red Raw, with Rob Heffernan and Laura O’Mahony, while on Sunday there is a chance to hear the voice of experience with Crime World’s Nicola Tallant delving deep into gritty realities.

On Wednesday next, April 2, In The Making – New Work Musical Theatre Showcase features some of Cork’s finest musical talents. Set in the atmospheric Green Room, and written by local composers, acts will be followed by talks that reveal the stories and inspirations behind the music, with a distinguished of industry professionals providing and guidance about the pieces presented, contributing to the future progress of the work.

Due to popular demand, Emma Doran returns to the Everyman tonight with her sell-out show, Dilemma, wickedly observant of life’s traps and trip-ups.

Neil Delamere is here tomorrow and Saturday night with his brand new epic stand-up comedy show, Achilles Neil, while Sunday brings the great Rock Icons, taking you on a journey through some of the world’s greatest classic rock bands - Deep Purple, Free, Bon Jovi, Toto, Rainbow, Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Status Quo, Van Halen, and more.

The inaugural production in the new EVERYMAN MADE season marks the 10th anniversary of Brian Friel with a production of Making History, opening Tuesday, April 15 (previews from April 11.) Set in Ireland in 1591, when our culture was on the brink of extinction under English occupation, it follows the secret marriage of Hugh O’Neill and Mabel Bagenal, and delves into events around the Battle of Kinsale. Who gets to decide how history is recorded, told and retold? Unmissable this one.

At City Limits – Cork Comedy Club this Saturday, Fred Cooke will be on stage with guests.

Working with the Tommy Tiernan show for over eight years now, this man’s style of comedy simply cannot be imitated. His Republic of Telly sketches have had millions of views on Youtube, and he has even appeared on Dancing With The Stars! Doors 8pm, show starts at 8.45pm.

There is a gala evening of music at St Catherine’s Cultural Centre in Kinsale this Saturday in aid of Kinsale Lions, and cancer charities. The Bandon Concert Band will be there, violinist Kysenia Yershova, and pianist Amber Kaier. A fundraising raffle too, plus prosecco and canapés. Tickets at the Boathouse Gallery in Kinsale. Doors 7.30pm, concert begins 8pm.

Finally, at the energetic little Glen Theatre in Banteer this Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Dying To Meet You, a comedy by Ron Hutson, directed by Tadhg O’Keeffe for the Glen drama group. Booking on 029 56239.
