Cork woman facing shoplifting charges refused bail

Kirsty Doyle with an address at Cork Simon Community was refused bail and remanded in custody for a week by Judge Mary Dorgan at Cork District Court.
Ms Doyle said that she was trying to get her life back together and applied through solicitor Shane Collins-Daly for bail.
Judge Dorgan said in regard to the defendant trying to do better that that the most recent charge of shoplifting related to a substantial amount of goods allegedly stolen on June 3.
“If you do give me bail I will not commit any more offences,” Kirsty Doyle said.
Judge Dorgan said in her refusal of bail that she was very concerned about the eight new charges against the defendant.
The charges are as follows where it is alleged that on: August 16, 2024, she stole €27 of items from Centra on Shandon Street; January 29, this year, at Aldi on Tory Top Road, she stole €166 worth of steaks from a fridge; February 8 she stole €230 worth of goods from Aldi in Blackpool; March 11 she stole €180 worth of items at TK Maxx on Cornmarket Street; March 18 she stole €137 worth of meat from Aldi in Blackpool; March 28 she stole €100 worth of goods at Centra, Victoria Cross; April 26 there was a theft of sports clothing from Dunnes valued €472; June 3 at JD Sports there was theft of €325 worth of clothing.
