Deputy Mayor Cllr Honore Kamegni & Viviane Kamegni were among those who attended the  first charity gala dinner in aid of Cork Penny Dinners at the Castlemartyr Resort.

Castlemartyr Resort hosted its first-ever fundraising gala dinner in aid of Cork Penny Dinners earlier this month, raising €40,000 for the charity.

There were musical performances by Kelli-Ann Masterson, Susie Gibbons, and Rachel Croash, accompanied by Gary Beecher on piano.

Well-known Blackrock Road resident Reggie also kept the crowd entertained and TV host Killian O’Sullivan acted as compère for the evening, which was attended by more than 200 people.

The five-course meal served on the night was created by executive head chef Kevin Burke along with his culinary team.

Generosity

The funds were raised by the generosity of attending guests who bid on a selection of luxurious prizes donated by businesses including Mayrange Hospitality, Nespresso, and Jameson Distillery.

“We are delighted with the success of our first charity gala dinner, and we are blown away by the kindness shown by the guests and our business ers,” Brendan Comerford, general manager of Castlemartyr Resort, said.

Caitríona Twomey, of Cork Penny Dinners, added: “This has been a fantastic evening.

“We are so grateful to Castlemartyr Resort, all the lovely guests and to everyone who kindly ed this event.

“It is important for all our volunteers and the people who use our services to see the strength of out there for Cork Penny Dinners.”
