UPDATE: Cobh cross-river ferry back in action on Monday

The Cross River ferry service in age West will resume tomorrow morning after a freak accident put it out of action for the last 24 hours.
Cross River Ferries, which carries engers between Glenbrook and Carrigaloe, said that due to a “freak accident with debris” yesterday both their ferries were damaged and now need repairs.
The vessels needed to be dry-docked in order to carry out repairs.
The ferries, which broke down Saturday morning, resulted in a mild panic for triathletes heading to Cobh to take part in the annual Olympic Triathlon Jailbreak.

Athletes were en route to Cobh when the news broke that the route was inaccessible.
The company, which was established in 1993 by Doyle Shipping Group, initially said the ferry would not be operational on Sunday or Monday.
However, in an updated message on Sunday evening, the company confirmed that normal service would resume from 6.30am to 9.30pm on Monday.
The crossing from Glenbrook to Carrigaloe takes five minutes.
