Two teenagers have been killed in a collision involving a bus and an e-scooter in Waterford.

The boy was travelling on an e-scooter on the R680 Cork Road in Waterford City shortly after 1am on Thursday when the incident occurred.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second boy who was also travelling on the e-scooter was taken to Waterford University Hospital with serious injuries, where he ed away on Thursday afternoon.

The bus driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured in the incident.

The incident occurred shortly before 2:10am on Thursday on the R680 Cork Road in Waterford city.

A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators has been completed and the road has re-opened. A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to provide to the families at this time.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or those with camera footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward.

Any road s who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Cork Road in Waterford city between 1:45am and 2:15am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
